Designers - Seven Part Series

This series is aimed to stimulate interest in the design and the application of technologies. Designers explore the design process from conception to realization in a broad range of settings. These programs present working designers solving real problems. Watch as professionals formulate their ideas and bring them to life as product, or processes utilizing a variety of materials, technologies and production methods. In the beginning there was the idea. Later the idea became fully formed as a concept. The concept looked good at first, but on closer inspection it had a few rough edges that needed refining. There was also council approval, cost factors and a difficult client to deal with. And then there was the color. No one said designing was easy. If you ever wondered what it takes to see an idea through from conception to completion, this is the series for you. No dry academics or abstract thought processes here. Just real designers working on real projects. There are jewelry and shopping centers being created, there's even someone who designs ice creams and two guys who design a car -- from drawings, to a life size clay model, to the real thing being driven off the production line. Designers was made to create excitement about design, about learning the rules of design, and then breaking them. It's about playing with ideas - collaborating and nurturing and visualizing..Each episode takes 15 minutes, about the same time it takes to eat an ice cream!
