But they describe various religious persecutions; jihad is preached against Christians as well as Jews. The 1950 fifteen percent Christian segment of Palestinians has fallen to two percent; Nazareth, once 80 percent Christian, is now only 20 percent. In 2002 armed terrorists pursued by Israeli troops sought sanctuary in one of Christendom's holiest sites, the Church of the Nativity, but wrought millions of dollars worth of desecration and theft.
