Ostriches come from the African Savannah, and are the largest birds on earth. They can be up to nine feet tall. They have excellent vision, and can detect danger from up to a mile away. Ostriches can't fly, and though they only have two toes, they are one of the fastest animals on the planet. The only animal faster than an Ostrich is a Cheetah. Ostriches can run faster than a horse for up to 30 minutes without stopping. Ostrich eggs are up to 12 times bigger than a regular hen's eggs. It can take up to a year for an Ostrich to become full-grown.

He was lucky enough to win the patronage of Suleiman the Magnificent, one of the richest and the most powerful of Ottoman rulers.
