The Fire Bellien Toad & The Common Spade Foot Toad

Reveals the life of the fire-bellied toads and the spade-footed toad (or garlic-so named from the odor they exude). Only 5 or 6 percent of their offspring survive the tadpole stage; where ducks are, no tadpole at all survive. The tadpole depend on algae for food, with the sun's rays penetrating the water and acting as a greenhouse to retain heat. This video includes photography of the astounding metamorphosis from tadpole to earth-dwelling toad.
